The story goes like this: Agioritis took a trip to Boston, fawned over the city, and went home to Edmonton to open the Boston Pizza and Spaghetti House. Though named for the Hub, the chain was founded in 1964 in Edmonton, Alberta by a Greek immigrant named Gus Agioritis. This won’t be Boston’s only Boston expansion - as previously reported, the company plans to open a second location sometime in 2020. (which is right by Berklee College of Music) and that the restaurant is shooting for an opening date in June 2018. Canadian chain Boston Pizza will complete the circle next summer when it opens its first location of Boston’s Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar (full name: Boston’s the Gourmet Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar) between the Fenway and Back Bay neighborhoods of the city that gives the chain its name.Ī representative from Boston’s told Eater that the restaurant will be situated at 1124 Boylston St.
